Most converters give you a number and leave you to trust it. These show where the number came from, step by step, and update the explanation as you type.

Where a unit has more than one meaning — the gallon, the ounce, the ton, the cup — you get a switch rather than a silent assumption, and a note explaining why the two differ.
- Start from the definition 1 lb = 0.45359237 kg exactly Fixed by treaty in 1959, so this is a definition rather than a measurement.
- Turn it round 1 kg = 1 ÷ 0.45359237 = 2.20462262 lb You want pounds per kilogram, so invert.
- Multiply 70 × 2.20462262 = 154.32 lb The kilograms cancel, leaving pounds.
- Check it backwards 154.32 × 0.45359237 = 70 kg Returning to the start is the cheapest way to catch a slip.

Are these tools really free?
Yes. Every tool on the site is free to use, with no trial and no limit on how many times you use it. A paid tier is planned for new advanced tools that do not exist yet — nothing that is free today moves behind it. The pricing page sets that out in full.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for and no email to hand over. Open a tool and it works, and that will stay true for everything that is free today.
Is anything I type or record uploaded?
No. Every tool runs inside your browser. Your microphone and camera streams, your keystrokes, the passwords you test and the numbers you convert never leave your device, because the site is static and has no server to receive them.
Do the tools work on a phone?
Most of them, yes. The converters, counters and questionnaires all work on a touchscreen. The keyboard, mouse and gamepad testers need the hardware they are testing, so they make more sense on a computer.
How accurate are the converters?
The factors used are the exact defined ones wherever a definition exists — a pound is exactly 0.45359237 kilograms, an inch exactly 2.54 centimetres. Where a unit genuinely has more than one meaning, such as the gallon or the ounce, the page gives you a switch rather than quietly picking one.
Why do the converters show their working?
Because an answer you cannot check is worth less than one you can. Each converter shows where the factor comes from and how the arithmetic goes, so you can follow it or do it yourself next time.
Which browsers are supported?
Any current browser. A few tools depend on newer browser features — MIDI needs Chrome, Edge or Opera, and the microphone and camera testers need permission — and each of those pages says so.
