Detailed User Guide

Welcome to the Reaction Time Test! This tool is designed to measure how quickly you can respond to a visual stimulus. Here's everything you need to know to get the most out of your experience:

How to Take the Test:

1. Start the test by clicking on the blue rectangular area at the top of the screen.
2. Once you click, the area will turn red - this means wait!
3. After a random delay (between 1-5 seconds), the area will turn green.
4. As soon as you see green, click as quickly as you can!
5. Your reaction time will be displayed in milliseconds (ms).

Understanding Your Results:

• Last Time: Shows your most recent reaction time
• Best Time: Displays your fastest reaction time in the current session
• Average Time: Calculates the mean of all your attempts

What Makes a Good Reaction Time?

• Excellent: Less than 200ms
• Good: 200-250ms
• Average: 250-300ms
• Below Average: Over 300ms

Tips for Better Results:

1. Stay focused on the screen
2. Keep your finger/mouse ready but relaxed
3. Try to anticipate the change, but don't click too early!
4. Take breaks between attempts to maintain concentration
5. Try multiple times to get an accurate average

Common Mistakes to Avoid:

• Clicking too early (during the red screen)
• Getting distracted between attempts
• Moving your mouse/finger too far from the clicking area
• Taking too many tests without breaks

Technical Notes:

• The tool works on both desktop and mobile devices
• Results are measured in milliseconds (1000ms = 1 second)
• The random delay prevents pattern prediction
• Your scores are saved locally in this session
